My Grandfather Patrick was born in Aillemore and my Grandmother Ann in Kilgeever. Both worked in the mills their entire life.

My grandmother's dream was to one day come back to Ireland, but that was never realized. Every year, however, she went to the ocean which was about an hours drive from home to put her feet in the water. She said that it was the same ocean she knew as a girl in Ireland and that was enough to keep her connected.

Amazing that so many of these brave young people left their homes to never see family in Ireland again.

Hi Jim,

My grandmother, Anne Hallinan (in picture above) mother was a Kerrigan from the Louisburgh area. Additionally, Anne was very friendly with the Hastings who also emigrated to Manchester, NH.

Christine, my Family names are Hastings and Kerrigan. Great grandfather Martin Hastings married Bridget Kerrigan in the mid 1850's. Looking for more information on them but no luck. Their son Peter Hastings, my Grandfather, married Ellen Conroy from Tuam in Newton, MA in 1903 and resided in Framingham, MA.

Lovely photo of your family. I have traced my family history and the name Grady pops up as sponsors on birth certificates etc. My family names are Hastings from Kilgeever and Bradley from Murrisk.
