Wonderful collection of Photographs from long time visitor

By Mary Omalley

Long time visitor to Louisburgh, Kelley O’Grady has used her time during Lock Down 2020 to open boxes of photographs that she has taken over the years. Spanning five decades, Kelley has always had her camera with her on trips to Louisburgh and in particular to their second home in Cregganbaun.

Kelley and her husband Patrick live in Boston, U.S.A. and have travelled home at least twice a year to tend to their farm and visit Patrick’s family and friends in Louisburgh.

The photographs are a wonderful addition to our website and give a very real glimpse of life during those times. Sadly, many of the people featured in the photograph’s have gone to their eternal reward but the memories and the stories live on through this collection. The landscape may have changed over time however Kelley has managed to capture many different aspects of life with her camera and allow us to see what the surrounding mountains, street scape and beaches looked like in the past.

We are so grateful to you Kelley for sharing your collection and wish you and Patrick and all the family good health and happiness in the years ahead.
